Forged out of Melbourne’s inner north music scene and 2020 lockdown boredom, bluecouch are a duo consisting of Melbourne-based musician Joel and London-based producer Ben.

The pair lived together in Melbourne and began making music in early 2020. Towards the end of the year Ben relocated back home to London so the duo began sending bedroom demos back and forth, and what emerged is a sound that’s somewhere between ethereal candy dream pop and warm, fuzzy indie. With most of their music being recorded on phones and laptops, bluecouch’s lo-fi, intimate sound provides a genuine comfort in these uncertain times.
